About Us: Albar Industries

We strive to provide the highest quality parts and service to our customers. We will continuously improve the quality of our products and processes to exceed our customers' expectations. We have experience in both automotive and commercial applications as well as large and small parts.

Albar is a Class A painter. We do both interior and exterior automotive paints. We are approved to paint both plastic and metal parts. We also do final assembly on parts that require such after painting. We do not mold in house, but use our alliance strategy to team up with molders, who do not paint, to supply "one stop shop" service. Our business breaks down into 3 categories...

1) Tier 1 supplier of molded / painted parts
2) Tier 2 supplier of paint only
3) Tier 2 supplier of molded / painted parts

We also have design capability and experience. We partner with a data management company to assist in product design if requested by our customers. Primarily this is B surface design i.e. design the B surface detail and attachments to mate up with mating part on the vehicle.

Albar: Company History

Albar was founded in 1969 by Ed May and Stan Malopolski. The1st plant was in Rochester for a short time. With some growth we moved to a larger plant in Troy. In 1984 we moved to our current location in Lapeer. We started a 30,000 square foot plant. By 1991 we had completed 3 additions for a total of 110,000 square feet. For many years Albar was a contract painter. We did not have any direct business with the Automotive OEM's, but worked for Tier 1 molders.

In 1999 we were offered an opportunity to develop a strategic alliance with Pinnacle Plastic Products, a blow-molder in Bowling Green, Ohio. The goal was to become a Tier 1 supplier of painted / blow-molded parts, specifically spoilers. Albar was awarded our first Tier 1 business with General Motors in 2000 and we have continued on the General Motors bid list for painted blow-molded parts ever since. Chrysler, Ford and VW has since added Albar to their Tier 1 supply base. Since that time, we have developed alliances for injection molded / painted parts and supply them as a Tier 1 supplier as well.
